[/ˈterəs/] noun

The name Terris is a combination of “terra” (earth) and “genesis” (beginning). So you can interpret our name to mean “beginning of the new world,” because WE are the new world, from a new generation. With this challenge, we'll be addressing world(earth) issues and cultivating our generation's future leaders!

The Challenge

The Terris Challenge is an international two-week STEM-athon where participants will be asked to create a project to address a world problem(prompt released on opening day). Our mission is to cultivate the next generation of world-changers by posing modern-day challenges for them to ponder and solve in an exciting and supportive community

Anyone from the age of 13-18 years old is welcome to join this competition! You don’t have to be well versed in coding, engineering, or STEM; you should just be willing to put in your best efforts to compete! During those TWO weeks, we will have plenty of free workshops and learning opportunities, that we encourage all competitors to join!

Yes! We have two categories:

Product Design(engineering/comp sci) competitors will use the engineering design process to create a functioning demo product for the challenge. Your project's function (either physical, digital, or a mixture of both)should be demonstrated in a 3-minute pitch video.

Research Proposal(sciences) participants will be writing a beginner research-based proposal as a presentation of their results from scientific investigation. A guide to writing a research proposal can be found here.

Due to the pandemic situation, the event will be from August 1-15th hosted online on Discord(for community interaction)and our website(info and submission), with both live events like workshops and mentor help sessions, as well as off-time for you to work on your projects with your team.
Registration will be right here (scroll to fill out the reg form).

The Terris Challenge is 100% free for all participants! If you're a teenager from anywhere in the world, you can register for the the challenge when sign-ups open for no charge. Our mission is to make STEM accessible for everyone and give students a chance to innovate without worrying about cost.
